Communicate through the power of your mind!

29 september 2023

In this demo, you’ll be shown a “brain-computer interface”. With this, you can use the electricity in your brain to control a computer. EEG electrodes are used to find a brainwave called the “P300”, which appears when something catches your attention. In 1988 two American scientists designed a computer program with flashing letters to allow paralyzed patients to spell words using this P300 wave. In the future, this and many other brain signals can be used to help paralyzed people (for example those with ALS) to communicate, control wheelchairs, or use their brain to control a whole “exoskeleton”.
