FullCompensation: pain and suffering damages shouldn’t be a lottery

The earthquakes in Groningen have had a serious impact on many residents. The compensation process for these damages can be filled with hurdles, especially for pain and suffering damages, which are not easily quantifiable. Thus, compensation can be surrounded by bias and subjectivity. The EU-funded FullCompensation project aims to promote equity in the compensation of these damages by studying how judges and other adjudicators approach this in different EU countries.
